The South Coast Botanic Garden is a unique 87-acre garden environment. The garden was once a landfill and now has over 150,000 beautifully landscaped plants and trees. Some of the more diverse plants include flowering fruit trees, redwoods, ginkgos and pittosporum. The more popular gardens are the Water-wise Garden, Herb Garden, English Rose Garden, and Garden of the Senses. A small lake and stream bed attract various birds such as ducks, geese, coots, and blue heron.Photo: Blue Hibiscus Purple Delight [ info ]
