Gardening for food is not a new concept, but the public seemed to lose interest in home vegetable gardens for a long time. Today, the urban agriculture movement is growing through endeavors such as the Southside Community Land Trust whose mission it is to provide access to land, education and resources so people can grow food in environmentally sustainable ways and create community food systems where locally produced, affordable, and healthy food is available to all.
