The Arboretum features many distinct ecological communities, several horticultural collections, effigy mounds, historic artifacts, a Visitor Center, and more than 20 miles of trails by which to visit them. Attractions include the Curtis Prairie, considered the world’s oldest restored prairie. This 60 acre deep-soil tall-grass prairie is just south of the Visitor Center. By early fall expect to see Indian grass and 10-foot tall big bluestem grass. [ info ]
