Nichols Arboretum and Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Visitors to the Ann Arbor campus of the University of Michigan enjoy the more than 5,000 plantsin the collections at the 300-acre Matthaei Botanical Gardens and the 123-acre Nichols Arboretum. The site is known for its historic Peony Collection, Heathdale Collection (species primarily from the Applachian area), the Dow Prairie, as well as other display gardens, a 10,000+ square foot Conservatory, and miles of nature trails.
