During mid-July, if you can, pay a visit to the New Hampshire Rhododendron State Park’s 16-acre grove of Rhododendron Maximum, which is the largest in northern New England and designated a National Natural Landmark in 1982.

Hiawassee, Georgia
Hamilton Gardens, located in the North Georgia Mountains on the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, has the largest collection of rhododendrons in Georgia. More than 400 varieties of rhododendron – 3,000 plants in all, plus dogwood, tulip magnolias, native azaleas, wildflowers, and trillium. Peak viewing season usually occurs the last two weeks in April through the first two weeks in May. The gardens are open year around.
